It’s hard to believe that I started the Financial Independence Champion (www.fichampion.com) Blog almost one month ago! That’s right, my first post was back on May 21, 2016. If you’re been watching closely too…..in the past month I’ve been able to publish 16 new posts. Those FULL posts have been back-dated to their appropriate dates, but I’ve also been putting out a “retro” post which carries the actual 2016 date when the post was published.
I mentioned previously how this blog will be a little different than any other ones you may follow. I still plan to talk about personal finance, rental property, travel, and the pursuit of financial independence. But to give all these topics the right context and the full picture, I need to start at the beginning. I need to fill in the details of life from 2005 until now. I want you to see the successes, the struggles, and all the milestones we passed along the way. Therefore most of the “new” content will be back-dated to their appropriate dates in 2005, 2006, and beyond — until we’re caught up!
So that’s a big reason why the posts are being back-dated. And that’s a big part of how this blog is different.
The “new” posts are “back in time”.
For this (almost) one month blog anniversary and update, I want to provide links to ALL the content that has been posted recently — in order. Just remember the “new” posts are “back in time”. Take a look below, in order from oldest to newest:
- First Job After College
- Deciding to Buy or Rent
- May 2005 Net Worth Update
- We Bought a Duplex
- June 2005 Net Worth Update (+$3,727)
- The Process of Purchasing Our Duplex Part 1
- July 2005 Net Worth Update (+$4,061)
- The Process of Purchasing Our Duplex Part 2
- August 2005 Net Worth Update (+$5,228)
- Continue to Live Like a College Student
- Ending our Tenant’s Lease Agreement
- September 2005 Net Worth Update (+$5,464)
- October 2005 Net Worth Update (+$2,360)
- First Move Out Inspection
- November 2005 Net Worth Update (+$2,858)
- My First Christmas Bonus
Hopefully you’re enjoying the updates as the 2005 posts near the end. It’s more writing than I’ve done in quite some time! But it was a fun year to recollect since there were so many new things for my wife (fiance at the time) and me to experience.
I’m looking forward to the next several updates and posts. I want to share the New Year 2006 goals we worked on back then, review our income and expenses for our first half year of working life, share our budget, and more.
Remember to continue reading the FULL articles.
Since the “new” posts will be back-dated to the appropriate dates in 2005 or 2006, the full versions will appear “below” all of the 2016 posts. I’m also putting out the “retro” posts with the actual/current date of when a post was published — but it will only contain “part” of the article. Call it a summary or snippet, if you will. You will need to remember to click the link below those snippets to continue reading the FULL articles. I hope that makes sense.
